Meet The Team

James is aware that the majority of patients are uncomfortable in the dental chair so he strongly stands by his motto: ‘Care for your patients and perform dentistry on them, the way you would want it performed on yourself.’ That is why he established Victoria Street Dental with the aim of providing the highest quality care.

James graduated from the University of Otago and began his career in Wellington at various private practices accumulating an immense amount of experience including the widely known practice ‘Gentle Dental Centre’. Because of his passion for dentistry and the drive to provide high-quality care, he has since furthered his knowledge by attending countless continuing education courses worldwide.

James enjoys all facets of dentistry from simple single-tooth restoration to full mouth rehabilitation. He has a special interest in dental implant, gum graft, and orthodontic dentistry.
In his spare time, he enjoys staying active by playing soccer and going to the gym as well as indulging in a nice meal out.

Kelly graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. What Kelly loves most about dentistry is the connections she builds with her patients. She enjoys helping those who have previously felt anxious about dental treatment to regain trust and feel at ease in the dental chair. For Kelly, quality dental care isn’t just about treatment, it’s about working together with her patients to achieve lasting oral health. Kelly enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with an interest in restorative treatment and oral surgery. She looks forward to helping you achieve a healthy, confident smile.

Outside of the clinic, Kelly loves exploring new cities, beaches, and scenic walks, and she’s always on the hunt for great cafés and parks to do some quality dog-spotting. Kelly is new to Wellington, so be sure to recommend any of your local favourites!

Amarise graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dunedin. Amarise enjoys both hygiene and therapy aspects of patient care. She focuses on providing patient-centred care and work together with her patients to help improve and maintain their oral health.

Amarise understands that most people dread a visit to the dental clinic and aims to make every visit as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

Outside of work, Amarise enjoys baking and all types of arts and crafts.

Jo has over 20 years’ experience in the dental industry. She is a qualified dental assistant and has worked in a variety of roles from reception through to practice manager.

She enjoys working with people and is very customer-focused, ensuring patients’ needs are looked after with the utmost care and attention to detail. Combined with her excellent communication skills and incredible work ethics, Jo is a well-liked and integral member of the team at Victoria Street Dental.

Outside of work Jo enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her daughter.

Natayla is an experienced dental assistant at Victoria Street Dental who works to provide a comfortable experience for every patient. She enjoys all procedures, particularly wisdom teeth surgeries and all forms of extractions.

Natayla understands dental practices can be intimidating places. Therefore, she helps to put patients at ease throughout the entirety of their procedures. She also loves to make meaningful connections with every patient she works with.

Outside of work, Natayla enjoys socializing with friends, exploring local op shops and restaurants, and immersing herself in the vibrant live music scene.

Jasmine is a friendly Dental Assistant at Victoria Street Dental who enjoys helping patients feel comfortable and at ease during their appointments, aiming to ensure every visit is a positive experience. She enjoys assisting with a wide range of dental procedures and finds it rewarding to see the positive difference treatment can make to patients’ smiles.

Outside of work Jasmine enjoys exploring local bushwalks, tramping, baking, and is currently learning to crochet.
